The inside of the Alderhouse..............

Here you are going to be able to take a look around the inside of the studio. The viewer will allow you to see pretty much all of the studio. To start you are looking at the display along the south side. If you pan to the right you will come to some of Anne's Witch Balls then the picture wall where you will find some snaps of Mike and his fish and some of our family and friends and the desk where we can help you with a purchase. Keep going right and to the front door.

A bit farther on you come to the lehr. This is an 850 degree box into which we place the pieces as we finish them. They are then held at that temperature to remove the stress and then slowly cooled all night long. Just behind the lehr is the diamond lap where we can do some finish work on the bottoms of the pieces.

Next you come to the work bench where we do most of our work. This is the area with all of the plastic buckets where we keep the blocks wet. On to the furnaces. The left-most furnace is where we keep our molten clear glass. It is kept at 2150 degrees F. Just to its right is the 'glory-hole" where we reheat the pieces and to the right of that is the color furnace with two pots of colored glass. On the floor you will see the pot that was in last years furnace. On around to rest of the display of the finished pieces.

We hope that you can visit us in person one of these days. Until then, enjoy your VR tour of the studio.
